Today marks the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence. It is also the feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, when the Theotokos was told that she would give birth to Christ. Commenting on these events is Fr Anastasios Bozikis, priest at the parish of St Nektarios in Wollongong and Lecturer in Church History at St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College.
